Inventory Book-to-Physical Report

Q:  Some items are not appearing on my Book-to-Physical Inventory report.  What might be causing this?

A:  The Book-to-Physical report reconciles the on-hand (perpetual) quantities with your inventory’s physical count. This report should be printed after entering or updating inventory item physical counts.  This will help you determine which items show a difference between the on-hand quantity and the physical quantity.

It is important to keep in mind that this report is not intended as a full and complete inventory item listing.  There are two instances when items will not appear on the Book-to-Physical report:

If an item’s physical count is the same as its on-hand (perpetual) count, then the item will not appear on the Book-to-Physical report.
If an item’s on-hand (perpetual) count is negative, then the item will not appear on the Book-to-Physical report.

However, if an item’s physical count is negative and different from the on-hand (perpetual) count, then the item will appear on the Book-to-Physical report and display these count discrepancies.
